Spark Energy sales staff are getting fitter and helping cut the company’s carbon footprint with the Bike2Work scheme for cut-price employee bicycles.
Up to 70 per cent of the Spark Energy sales force are taking advantage of the scheme, which allows them to buy a new bicycle tax-free under an employer agreement with Bike2Work.
Spark Energy director of sales and marketing, Kris Jakobsen, was one of the first to sign up for the scheme:
‘I’ve been cycling the four miles into work from Bruntfield to the Spark Energy office at Swanston. It’s all uphill on the way in, and thankfully downhill on the way back. I must say it’s a lot harder now than when I was 13! But it’s certainly making a difference to my fitness.’
The Bike2Work scheme lets staff save up to 50% on new bikes and equipment, and is recognised by the Green Achiever awards for green businesses.
Spark Energy is an energy supplier specialising in tenants and letting agencies.
